Gold Mining Equipment For that Recreational Rare metal Miner - Careers - Career Management

Gold Exploration is a great strategy to have fun in the fantastic outdoors. An increasing number of hobbyists are seeking gold mining equipment to compliment their recreational gold exploration activities. Of these hobbyists, there is absolutely no greater pleasure than seeking nuggets involving gold, just like the followers in the original rare metal rush back in the 1800s.

Platinum Mining Methods - Things you need

There are some easy gold mining tools which might be essential for any gold miner to own. Practice makes perfect with these tools, and some are easier to learn to use than these. We advocate starting with platinum panning, as this is definitely the easiest way to acquire acquainted with the process.

Gold Panning Supplies

Gold panning may be the simplest way to look for gold. It takes a bit of patience and a few simple tools, however it is still a very effective way to find small quantities of gold within streambeds. What you will need:

o Gold Pan-to filtration system down to the actual gold.e Finishing pan--smaller pan to do the smaller filtering.to Trowel and tiny pick-to dig up supply bed content.o Magnet-Gold is not magnetic, to help you magnetically remove magnet sands.o Tweezers-for plucking out and about gold particleso Snuffer Bottle--Used regarding "sucking" gold allergens out of skillet.o Funnel -- Aids in transferring rich sand into taste bottlee Sample Bottle - A big mouth area helps with the particular transfer, in addition plastic can be safer and also won't bust.o Magnifying Glass-to zoom in on yellow sand particles.to Classifiers, screens, sieves-these are usually optional, they are able to help with your filtering process.

Sluice Boxes

Sluice boxes let the steady stream do the meet your needs! A very simple sluice container can greatly increase your output because you can course of action more substance more quickly. Severe prospectors may want to utilize a gas powered sluice, which ups your current productivity a lot more.

Metal Detectors

Metal alarms can help a prospector locate precious metal nuggets. To work with this technique, you need to know utilizing this tools, you also need to find out how and where to appear.

Suction Dredging Products

A Suck Dredge is for greater serious gold miners. It is like an effective, underwater hoover with a rare metal recovery method gloating on the surface with the water. The majority of hobbyists won't use this products, unless these people pay an operator within a platinum prospecting tour.

Disadvantages of gold mining shares - Business - Product Reviews

- The quantity of a gold mine's reserves is never accurately known. Gold mining reserves (and their poor relative 'resources') are assessed by miners' core drilling programs which sample a prospective gold seam to measure gold concentrations in the rock at different locations. The amounts discovered in chemical analysis are extrapolated over a wider area to identify the likely reserve amount overall, but there is no guarantee it will be found during the extraction of commercial gold mining. Consequently there is a risk that recorded reserves do not reflect reality. Human nature gets in the way of accurate sampling, especially in companies whose function is principally exploration rather than the operation of mines. Prospectors raise money by encouraging investors that there is gold underground, and although a great deal of effort may be made to keep the process honest you only have to overlook a couple of poor rock samples (let's just call them damaged) to manipulate the l ikely reserves upwards. In the end the investor must trust both the geologists and the company's financial controller - both of whom may have to make the occasional fine judgement. It is almost always in their interest to err on the side of optimism. A pessimistic outlook rarely got a gold mine built.

- There can also be unforeseen engineering problems in extracting ore. These can increase the production costs, and only small percentage increases can eat into the mine's profitability.

- Another issue is that the costs of the mine can be borne in a currency other than dollars - the trading currency of the output. Exchange rate movements can greatly affect mine profitability by creating currency translation adjustments - both profits and losses.

- Perhaps the greatest variable is shareholder sentiment. Because of the wide attraction of gold shares during good gold bullion markets the shares tend to outperform not only gold, but also any reasonable valuation of the mine's future cash-flow. Investors are often not familiar with the yield numbers they should expect on a mine compared with - say - a supermarket, because whereas there is no reason that using a supermarket will wear it out, the mine certainly will be worthless within a few years, once its ore is gone. So the return must pay back both the original investment and provide some profit during its life. A 20 year lifetime mine must yield in excess of 5% per annum before it makes any profit for the long-term investor at all. Few gold mining shares can do this, so in effect the share price of many mining shares already discounts a substantial bullion price improvement. That is an indication that they could be overvalued.

- Adding to the problem of evaluating the investment quality of even well-established mines is the fact that their accounts are unusually opaque. Many people (including your author) who are perfectly comfortable with general purpose financial statements, for ordinary commercial businesses, start to tremble when presented with gold mining company accounts.

- Corporate culture is another problem. These days many companies (not just gold mining companies) are run more for the benefit of their managers than their shareholders. Many managers don't like paying dividends because it diminishes the cash pile remaining for staff salaries and new corporate adventures - like exploration or takeover activity. Very few gold mining companies could be accurately described as vehicles for the straightforward exploitation of underground gold ores in the interest of shareholders. Instead the assets can become the playthings of boards of directors whose best interest tends to be served by punting shareholders' money on opportunities which are sufficiently credible to grant a possible future beyond the current working mine's life. In the absence of strict and generous dividend policies shareholders in gold mining companies are investing in the strategic competence of their board at least as much as in gold.

These disadvantages of gold mining shares have got worse in recent years. Exploration businesses which have found gold in smaller countries have been forced to build roads, hospitals, schools and other social infrastructure, as well as repair the damage they do. The host government is quite quickly able to assess the value of a newly discovered resource, and to load the permission to mine accordingly. The social costs have increased far faster than the value of the gold found.

Gold mining shares are a potentially risky but simultaneously exciting investment. They tend to be reasonably correlated to gold prices but typically much more volatile, and subject to many variations which are independent of bullion market forces. Buying gold bullion is less expensive on dealing costs.

Choosing the right gold mining stocks - or even just the right gold mining index to follow - is crucial. But while individual gold mining companies can offer the potential of high-risk returns, the gold mining industry as a whole is facing growing problems of cost, politics and finance.

Penny Stocks, THE Untapped Gold Mines - Finance

OLPW - 2100% LEXG - 2550% NSRS - 1100% IVVI - 6500% CPMCF - 2050%

Wow! Massive returns! Over looked little treasures, penny stocks are still lucrative, untapped, hidden gold mines! OTC (Over The Counter) penny stocks are often advertised and promoted as millionaire makers. In fact, I have never seen the NASDAQ or NYSE come close to matching the percentage returns shown above. Literally, a fortune can be made out of pennies! Find the hidden gold mine and riches will be yours.

Penny stocks are generally defined as those under $5. The over the counter and pink sheet stocks often are valued in fractions of a cent, some all the way down to 0.0001 cent levels. Many are start up companies still trying to developing their product. The gems are small slowly growing companies with a good, solid product or service that have not "broken out" into the mainstream yet.

Unfortunately you will have to sift through hundreds of sham companies and poorly run companies that will never make it to the big times. Given time most of these will probably end up in bankruptcy. This coupled with some antics of lets say some not very ethical stock pickers can make the OTC and Pink Sheet markets very risky investments.

If a picker or advisory service is used look for one that offers free trial periods, will show you their track records, and show their percentage of gains and losses. Also try to find someone that has been established in the business for a while.

The best protection against a bad investment is once your stocks are select exercise some due diligence and research your picks. Look for how long the company has been in business, its management team, cash on hand, cash flow, how long have they been generating a positive revenue, and the cash to dept ratio. These indicators will give you a good picture of whether to invest or not. Almost forgot an important item. Make sure your stock has pretty good trading volume. You don't want to see your price rise up nicely and not be able to exercise a sell because the stock is not liquid.

To trade in OTC stocks you will need a broker. When looking for a broker make sure they allow OTC and Pink Sheet trading, as some will not permit activity in these markets. Scottrade, Schwab, Etrade, and Zeeco, at last reports, allowed penny stock trading.

Last but not least, when your ready to dive in to your prospective gold mine only use money you can afford to lose. No matter how much research is done it's always a high risk gamble. So don't use any more money then you would take to Vegas or Atlantic City.

So get excited and get some picks from some reputable services. Practice due diligence and research your choices well. Now for the fun part, take some expendable cash and go do some gold mining. Enjoy, have fun and profitable good luck.

Finding Metal With Metal Detectors - Technology

The main part of metal detectors is the control box, shaft, and search coil. Control box which has speaker, batteries, and microprocessor coordinates all activities. To protect the food source many companies use metal detectors to check for metal contaminates in the food, and some drug companies use the metal detectors to check for the same thing in drugs.

Besides metal detection, a walk-through metal detector includes and interface for an operator and a control unit plus environmental tolerance, electro magnetic compatibility, and the assurance of quality control. The control box is the brain of a metal detector. The magnetized metallic objects under the ground send a signal to the control box. Metal detectors that are used in mining need to be compact because of the space restrictions so the control unit and the search coil are integrated into a single unit.

This disk comes off the shaft at an angle, which allows it to be held parallel to the ground. Hand held detectors come in various types, professional, commercial, all-purpose, gold metal, beach and metal that is a relic. Many people use metal detectors to comb the beach for treasures, people are looking for coins, or any other type of metals that might produce a wealth of income. If you are walking along a beach you might come across many people with their instruments looking for these treasures. Since 911 security has gotten tougher and many airports and schools have turned to metal detectors, as well and government buildings, hand held metal detectors are often an important part of security procedures.

A great method of locating and preventing the use of dangerous items such as handguns or knives is the hand held metal detector. They are hand held security metal detectors and walk through metal detectors. Walk over or hand held models of metal detectors are normally used in airports.

Best rated walk through metal detectors have high target selection, low rate of false alarm, consistent detection, and a two way directional system. Cheap metal detectors are available in hand held, waterproof, and walk through models. Walk through metal detectors offer quick and effective processing.

Underwater metal detectors can cost around $400-$600. Underwater metal detectors are widely used to locate metallic objects under water. Underwater construction companies use underwater metal detectors for pipeline or cable locating functions. Some of the underwater metal detectors can adjust the search depth.

Advanced security metal detectors use low radiation x-rays for screening. Many metal detectors have microprocessor technology to check for coarse grained food in cornflakes, popcorn and noodles. Advanced gold detectors can also resist dust and moisture. Some of the advanced gold metal detectors have three modes for speed tracking.

Usually, the price of a metal detector starts from $65. Some sites offer price discounts. Most sites provide a price list for metal detectors. The price of metal detectors may vary, based on features and functions. If you are just starting out it is a good idea to purchase an inexpensive model before sinking the dollars into the hobby.

History of Fisher Metal Detectors - Hobbies

The history of fisher metal detectors begins way back in the late 1920s with a German graduate of Dresden university who had immigrated to America. Dr Gerhard Fisher was working in Los Angeles developing direction finding equipment intended for use in aircraft and his work was even recognized by Albert Einstein. Dr Fisher listened carefully to pilots who used his system and found that they all experienced interference in certain areas and he explored this problem. He found that these areas all had conductive mineral deposits and that if he passed a piece of metal between the receiver and transmitter of his directional finder that readings changed. He immediately realized that a small device could be developed along the lines of his directional finder that could be used to locate minerals and underground objects. He worked further on this and in 1931 turned his home garage into a small factory producing the first crude metal detector called the metallascope and called his ga rage factory the Fisher Research Laboratory. Four people were employed here to make this machine which compared to todays detectors was heavy and bulky as electronics had not yet been developed and large vacuum valves were required to make it work. Sales increased until the garage was no longer big enough to cope with the demand and in 1936 they into another building and the device was patented. A variety of people now used this product from geologists to hobby hunters and utility companies to police officers searching for weapons. Within three years they had to move again into bigger workshops to cope with demand and research. The research was very important as fisher had to be at the forefront of technology because his patent expired letting other companies start to produce their own devices. He did this well and remained the major producer of metal detectors as well as producing items such as Geiger radiation counters, radio equipment and electrical metering systems. Even throughout the second world war and the Korean war the development of the metal detectors was never allowed to be stopped even although Dr Fisher worked on military projects at these times. The next move was in 1961 to Belmont and an even larger manufacturing facility as the company was still growing steadily year by year. Six years after this move Dr Fisher retired leaving Fisher Research Laboratory a well known and respected company. It continued to grow and moved again in 1974 and in 1990 to Los Banos and is now owned by First Texas Products who bought the company in 2006.Today the company still has its great reputation for quality products and offers a large range of metal detectors for treasure hunters including gold, coin, relic and underwater detectors. Industrial detectors for utility companies for finding cables, pipes and valves are also manufactured at the fisher factory. Security which is so important nowadays is also a branch of fisher detectors with a large ran ge of handheld and walk through metal detectors available.

SHopping For a Metal Detector, Find Out Where to Get Em! - Sports

Metal detectors use electromagnetic fields to see the presence of metallic objects. They exist in a selection of walk-through, handheld, and vehicle-mounted models and are used to search personnel for concealed metallic objects at entrances to airfields, public schools, courthouses, and other guarded spaces; to seek for landmines, archaeological artifacts, and varied valuables; and for the detection of concealed or unwelcome metallic objects in industry and construction. Metal detectors sense metallic objects, but do not image them. An x-ray baggage scanner, for example, isn't classed as a metal detector as it photographs metallic objects rather than merely detecting their presence. Metal detectors use electromagnetism in two basically different ways, active and passive. ( 1 ) Active detection methods illuminate some detection space-the opening of a walk-through portal, as an example, or the space right in front of a hand-held unit-with a time-varying electro-magnetic fiel d. Energy reflected from or passing through the detection space is affected by the presence of conductive material in that space; the detector senses metal by measuring these effects. ( two ) Passive detection methods don't illuminate the detection space, but take advantage of the proven fact that every unshielded detection space is soaked by the Earth's natural magnetic field. Ferromagnetic objects moving through the detection space cause temporary, but discoverable changes in this natural field. ( Ferromagnetic objects are made of metals, for example iron, that are capable of being magnetized; many metals,eg aluminum, are conducting but not ferromagnetic, and can't be uncovered by passive means. ) Walk-through metal detectors. Walk-through or portal detectors are common in airfields, public buildings, and military installations. Their portals are bracketed with 2 enormous coils or loop-type antennae, one a source and the other a detector. Electromagnetic waves ( in this ex ample, low-frequency radio waves ) are emitted by the source coil into the detection space. When the electro-magnetic field of the transmitted wave impinges on a conducting object, it prompts transient currents on the surface of the object; these currents, in turn, radiate electro-magnetic waves. These secondary waves are sensed by the detector coil. Hand-carried metal detectors. Metal detectors tiny enough to be hand-held are frequently used at security checkpoints to localize metal objects whose presence has been detected by a walk-through system. Some units are designed to be carried by a pedestrian scanning for metal objects in the ground ( e.g, nails, coins, landmines ). All such devices operate on modifications of the same physical principle as the walk-through metal detector, that is, they emit time-varying electronic fields and listen for waves coming back from conducting objects. Some ground-search models further investigate the returned fields to distinguish variou s common metals from each other. Hand-carried metal detectors have for a while been used to search for landmines; [**] modern land mines are commonly made mostly of plastic to avoid this inexpensive and obvious counter-measure. Magnetic imaging portals. The magnetic imaging portal is a relatively leading edge technology. Like normal walk-through metal detectors, it illuminates its detection space with radio-frequency electromagnetic waves; however [*COMMA] it does so employing a number of small antennas arranged ringlike around its portal, pointing inward. Each of these antennas broadcasts to the antennas on the far side of the array; each antenna acts as a receiver whenever it isn't transmitting. A total scan of the detection space can happen in the time it takes a person to stroll through the portal. Gradiometer metal detectors. Gradiometer metal detectors are passive systems that exploit the consequences of moving ferromagnetic objects on the earth's magnetic field. A gra diometer is an instrument that measures a gradient-the difference in magnitude between 2 points-in a magnetic field. When a ferromagnetic object moves thru a gradiometer metal detector's detection space, it causes a temporary disturbance in the earth's magnetic field, and this derangement ( if large enough ) is noted. Gradiometer metal detectors are usually walk-through devices, but can also be mounted on a vehicle such as a police vehicle, with the intent of detecting ferromagnetic weapons ( e.g, guns ) borne by persons approaching the automobile. Black Belt Recruiting Techniques For Your Network Marketing Business - Business - MLM

Black Belt Recruiting is a network marketing course that is created by none other than Mike Dillard - the founder of the Magnetic Sponsoring system and the Better Networker network marketing community.

In this course, he teaches you how to recruit 10 to 20 network marketing reps without begging, pleading or badgering your prospects to join your business opportunity.

One of the main reasons why Mike Dillard created this course is because many people are very poor when it comes to network marketing prospecting. It stems from the fact that most people who claim to be network marketers, know next to nothing about marketing at all. Not because they don't have a degree in marketing, but rather their hodge-podge prospecting techniques like cold calling dead beat leads and calling all your friends and relatives to buy your products under the guise of 'family business support' is nothing but brute force hard selling.

Dillard claims that Black Belt Recruiting will help you to get even more results in your network marketing business if you are willing to do exactly the opposite of what your uplines in traditional network marketing prospecting tell you to do.

In essence, by changing your prospecting method (by not acting so desperate) and keeping in mind that the ball is always in your hand, will lead you to become the hunted instead of the hunter.

Black Belt Recruiting emphasizes on the following techniques and mindsets:

- The less you hard sell, the more reps you sponsor- How to get your competitors to spread your name without them even knowing it- How to get people who already decided not to join your business to pay you money- How to get your prospects so excited that they will sign up without even knowing what company or team they are joining- How to sponsor sales reps into your business by knowing the right words to talk to them- The basic psychology about prospecting other network marketing reps in other business opportunities- A trick that will get people at parties and social gatherings to come to you and ask you about your network marketing business.

By adjusting your mindset and choosing the right words, you will rarely hear the word 'no' from your prospects again because you know how to approach them the right way. All in all, Black Belt Recruiting shows network marketers how to stay in control of their network marketing business instead of letting the prospects push you around.

Make metal detecting your new hobby - Travel

Buying a used gold metal detector from a detector surplus store and reselling them may not always be such a good idea, simply because they usually do not come with an owners manual. A range of electronic detecting probes and holsters for hand held metal detectors can be specially made by most manufacturers. Security measures must be balanced against the need to respect others religious customs and to protect them at the same time. This metal could be of interest for skin cell protection against uv radiation, however that can not be known until a uv specialist is consulted. If you may swing the metal detector at a steady space, you are more likely not to miss a highly priced target.

There are no metal detectors at the entrances to its stadium, so anyone can bring anything inside the game. The lastest model is a heavy-metal detection sensor in drinking h20 using pb-ag oxide. Security must be considered as a whole, do not just spend thousands of dollars on contracted security guards when metal detectors can be just as helpful. Many dealers offer a money back guarantee or a trade-in option on the latest metal detectors on the market. The technology for metal detectors is changing all the time, now some metals detectors are designed to do an x-ray and detect metal at the same time.

Each time you face a metal detector at the airport, just know that you must remove everything metal from your very person. How often will you need to upgrade or replace your metal detector; do they last for years or do they eventually get old and stop responding to all metal'. There are no grueling and fast rules for metal detectors; so when you receive a faint signal before you have completely scanned a person, you might ignore that one and scan them again.

There is a growing problem of children bringing weapons to school according to a published children's magazine, it seems more schools are beginning to install metal detectors. On the next hand metal detecting in antarctica is much easier than most other places in the universe. Each time you board the ship you have to walk through a metal detector which will x-ray your carry on items. If you can hold the coil as close to the ground as possible, then you may have deeper detection. The technology for detecting metal will improve to allow a precise fast screening, rather than the slow and sometimes inaccurate screening that some metal detectors may provide. Security must be controlled and communicated at all levels of implementations, that can be done easily as long as everyone involved is willing to cooperate.

Gold Detector Treasures - Outdoors

Call it a growing hobby, a pastime or an obsession, gold detecting gets into

your blood after a while. Using a gold detector can be very relaxing and

sometimes mesmerizing, finding gold nuggets might be the goal but fun of

prospecting for gold provides so much pleasure as an outdoor activity.

With lots of equipment, tools and books available in the market it can be

quite a challenge to get started, there is also and abundance of opinions

from experts trying to promote a particular brand or product which can be

equally confusing. For the person looking to buy their first metal detector a

popular solution is to buy a basic gold metal detector and then learn by

using it as you practice gold prospecting, it is also great practice to just

go out to the park, beach or wood and look for anything that gives you a

signal, even that is a great thrill.

Every gold detector has pros and cons depending on how much you pay for it

and what you intend to use it for. With a specialized prospecting detector

you get the high efficiency of locating even small nuggets at a shallow depth.

The down side is that it may have poor discriminating abilities and you

might end up with digging up lots of trash. With all gold detectors patience

is the key for finding gold. Do not leave the spot until you have scanned it

effectively, then you can move on and mark out another area. Despite your

hard work, you might not find anything, start all over again on a new

location applying the same degree of concentration. With a little reading of

some books on the subject, some effort and the right equipment, you too could

be finding hidden treasures.

A metal detector is really not a complicated device but the specifications

look quite technical. It has three basic parts, the first one is the coil

which can come in different shapes, it has a power supply and a control box.

Most of the job involves the control box because it is that one part that is

triggered when there is metal around and this signal is what causes the gold

detector to do its job.

Of all the different kinds of metal detectors, probably one of the most

important is the gold metal detector. It is pretty obvious that gold is an

element that is worth a lot in many ways and this makes gold metal detectors

a prized possession as well. Metal detectors identify various metals by

testing the conductivity of the metal. A target signal is eliminated for

unwanted ferrous metals like leftover iron, steel, pull tabs and bottle tops

while increasing target signals to high conductive metals as gold along with

brass and silver.

Best Places For Metal Detecting - Hobbies

Metal detecting for some is a real passion, with people travelling far and wide to fuel their treasure hunting adventures. Some are once a week treasure hunters while others only when on holiday and then there are people who do this for a living. Metal detecting can be profitable if your finds are good and not just can after can or ring pulls trying to fool you into thinking they are coins. Others like to do this just as a hobby maybe only managing to it once a week and just locally. Whether a professional metal detective or an amateur hobbyist many people get great satisfaction out of metal detecting. To avoid the can after can syndrome choose the places carefully for your detection adventures and increase your chances of making a very profitable find. Here are some tips on places more likely to produce some good finds.Public places and places where you find people regularly are always hot spots as things are always falling out of pockets waiting hidden in grass or sand ju st out of sight for you to come along and discover. Finders keepers that the way it works out of someones pocket and into yours. So some of the best places would be public parks and recreational facilities. These are particularly good just after any public holiday or special event as more people will have visited meaning more chance of things being lost. Busy beaches are a wonderful place to find lost articles some new some old, even car parks at scenic view points can hold hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Think about the metal detector type you have as well as some are better kept away from salt water. Dont use a detector in water unless it is designed to be used their otherwise you will permanently damage it.Public places where people hang out today looked good but places where people used to go or lived and worked can also be rewarding especially when hunting for older artefacts. Ghost towns, forts, old industrial and dockyard sites can have lots of hidden goodies. T hese places are very often overlooked just because no one goes there anymore. When exploring these sites make sure that you are not going onto private property or you may find yourself fleeing from a guard dog or two.Doing some historical research can turn up some great places that havent been explored for years or even decades. Historical groups can be contacted in your area to get useful information from and they are always keen to talk about historical places so you wont have to try hard. Archived copies of old maps and newspapers are also a great source of information on what used to be in and around an area. So visit the local library and see what you can find in their archives that could put you on the route to some valuable finds. I hope this helps you to discover some more places to try out your detecting skills.

What You Need To Know About Metal Detecting - Hobbies

Of all the hobbies that there are to do in this world, there are very few that offer the buzz of finding buried treasure. I don't know, maybe it's the kid in us or all those pirate shows we watched growing up. Face it, the thought of going out there with our metal detector and discovering, heaven knows what, is a thrill that is hard to match. Okay, this article is going to go over some things you might want to know BEFORE venturing off into this strange land.

Being successful at metal detecting is only going to be as good as the equipment that you use. That means getting a metal detector that's actually worth its weight and understanding HOW to use it. Unfortunately, too many people go for the less expensive equipment and don't take the time to learn how to use it. They end up frustrated with their results and blame the whole metal detecting hobby. It's not the hobby's fault. It all starts with the equipment you use.

Next, there's the question of exactly what it is you want to go searching for. Is it coins and antiques or are you going after some legit buried treasure? You need to make sure that you have a purpose in mind because you will need different equipment and different techniques depending on what it is that you're looking for. No, not all metals are the same. That's the first thing you need to understand before you even get started.

Something most people don't think about, which is very important, is finding a hunting partner. You don't want to be out there looking for this stuff on your own. Having a buddy along can be very helpful, mostly because somebody else could find something that you've overlooked. The best way to find somebody is to frequent metal detecting forums and look for posts that are specifically made for hooking up with other metal detecting enthusiasts.

If you'll have a look at the link in my signature, you'll find a review of a great resource that will teach you everything you'll need to know about metal detecting.

Treasure Hunting: A Great Way To Enhance Children's Logically Thinking Skills - Education - K-12 Education

Children probably fall under most curious groups of human beings who always search for new things and try to explore the world around them. When they are engaged into searching for new facts, they become very curious. Treasure hunting games are a great way of nurturing the children's enthusiasm, curiosity and logical thinking. When parents and schools organize fun filled events for kids, they can include a treasure hunting game for them. Children of all ages love to play this game. In the ancient times, treasure hunting was a profession. People's curiosity towards knowing the unknown was the start of this profession.

Archeologists do treasure hunts to enrich the history of the universe. It is due to the great archeological works that we get a better understanding of our history, how the universe works, and all other hidden secrets of our universe. This task of exploring the unknown facts now has become a very popular game. There are also video games based on treasure hunt activities. These video games also positive influence child development as like other games, these games don't have bloodsheds. While playing treasure hunt games on computers or television sets, children become an active participant and get engaged wholly. This sparks their logical thinking skills, makes them think more deeply and look at things from a different angle.

Lucid thinking skills are developed among children who take part in treasure hunting activities. There are a variety of ways through which we adults can plan a treasure hunting session for our kids. The first important thing while planning such sessions is to select the place where the treasure hunt would take place. As children would be the participants, so the place needs to be children friendly. Say for example we are choosing a park to conduct such sessions; the fencing should be tall enough so that the children can't jump over them.

The second thing is to create a list of thing which would be used as treasures. The treasure may include a pencil box filled with beautiful crayon pens or a casket full of chocolates or even a beautiful doll. Next comes the setting up of rules for the game, as whether there would be a group who will jointly search for the treasure or there would be single treasure hunters. It is best go for a group search because this will teach leadership and also make them aware of how to work in groups.

Depending upon the age of the children involved in the play, parents or the organizers of the event can set the clues. If it is for young children, then the clues can be simple, and understandable. And if it planned for children have just crossed their adolescence, then there need to be easy clues. If the children fail to understand the clues, they may feel reluctant to play the game. Sometimes a clue cannot be found. It is a good idea to make an extra copy of the clues and directions for such a problem. Treasure is not fun only, but when children get reward for their achievement, they feel like taking part into more constructive activities.

Metal Detecting Hunts: Where Are Treasures Located? - Outdoors - Hunting

Metal detecting hunts are a fun and inspiring outlet for those who crave adventure in their lives. The focus and technique that is required takes a person to an almost spiritual realm of concentration that few activities can compare to. The determination one feels during a treasure hunt quickly turns to feelings of pride and success when they actually discover something. For the beginner, simply finding a small coin can bring a feeling of joy, while the more advanced users are feeling elation when they discover a lost relic from the past. As you can see, metal detecting can be fulfilling in ways that you never knew possible.

Let's examine first the best places to begin metal detecting hunts. These are often public places, some that see heavy foot traffic and others that are off the beaten path. For beginners the backyard is always a great place to start. Many people find old coins, jewelry and other odds and ends. These items could be quite old lost long before your home was built.

Playgrounds are a good place to start if you are looking for money and jewelry that may have recently been lost. Parks are another wonderful place to enjoy a treasure hunt. Many people visit parks and it is very easy to drop items that become buried over time that are now just waiting to be found. You do need to make yourself aware of any park ordinances before you start digging as a fine may cost more than the value of your discovered treasure. Beaches are similar to parks and playgrounds except there is a good chance of finding older items that wash ashore as well as lost items lost by visitors.

For the adventurous, metal detecting hunts can reap big rewards if conducted in the woods. You never know the history of areas such as this and there are true treasures waiting to be found. Another fantastic area is along riverbanks. Items that have been lost in time wash ashore to simply become a memory in the rock and sediment until they are discovered by a treasure hunter.

We know where to search so let us look at how to search. If you are new to a metal detection hunt you can simply grab some change, bolts and other metal items and place them around a particular area. Listening to the tones of the metal detector and approaching the items from various angles, you will get a feel of what may be a nut or bolt and what may be a coin. It's all about listening and sweeping side to side in a slow but steady movement and listening to what the detector tells you. In no time at all you will be able to distinguish the different types of reactions that your detector makes when in contact with certain items.

You are now ready to take your treasure hunting adventure to one of the locations mentioned above. Try and do a little bit of research if you can to see if the land has some history to it. Pay close attention to the environment and look for undisturbed locations as these may not have been previously chosen for a hunt. Make sure that you get permission from any landowner before proceeding onto private property. Once there, follow your instincts, listen to what your device tells you and stay with slow steady sweeps. In no time at all your metal detecting hunt will pay off with a valuable reward.

Ltd 21.41B 21.42B 0.00% Shandong Gold 21.13B 27.74B 31.30%And their stock performance in the intervening year: Other than cementi ng the idea that Chinese companies are volatile, this chart shows how comparative company performance has been to the price of gold. That"s gold there - that nice, seemingly steady orange line along the top of the chart. Certainly no company avoids the big swings - like the big pop in gold at the end of September, but these are far from pure leverage-the-metal plays. And while the companies tend to move together, each of them is different - both Yunnan Copper and Jiangxi are really copper companies that mine a bit of gold. How little? Well, Yunnan produced 11.083 metric tons in 2008. Nothing to sneeze at, but a mere pittance when compared with what the other companies in the industry are pulling out of the ground. It"s really copper that is making or, in this case breaking, them. In the first quarter of 2009, Jiangxi"s net dropped 89% - mainly because its primary business revolves around cathode copper, and copper"s price and demand have both dropped. Zhongjin Gold Corp. and Shandong Gold, however, are almost pure-play gold companies. In 2007 Zhongjin Gold Corp. mined and processed 70.95 metric tons of standard gold and another 4.68 metric tons of mineral gold. It also mined 4,347 metric tons of electrolytic copper; 10,272 metric tons of content copper; and various amounts of silver, iron ore concentrate and sulfuric acid. But 91% of Zhongjin Gold"s total revenue was from gold. This year, the company is expecting to see its net profit increase 100% over 2007 due to the increase in gold price and the acquisition of nine new mines. Let me say that again - Zhongjin is expecting net profit to go up 100% from 2007 to 2008. Truth? We"ll find out soon - Zhongjin Gold Corp. will release its 2008 audited earnings report on April 29. Shandong Gold, for its part, has already reported profits up 72% for 2008 and is expecting an additional 50% increase in profits for 2009. And how about the largest Chinese gold company, Zijin Mining Group? In March, Zijin r eported its 2008 net profit grew a paltry 20% in the last year. That growth can be directly attributed to gold, with 63% of revenue coming from higher gold prices and increased production; but it also shows how hard it is for a larger player to really juice the bottom line. The company produced 57.32 tons of gold (and mined about 12% of all the gold coming out of China) and had a net profit of 2.897 billion yuan (about $425 million) in its gold business. The interesting thing will be to see if the non-Chinese miners can compete with Shandong and Zhongjin, because we"re headed right into the heart of gold-company earnings season. (Note: Be sure to check out Brad Zigler"s earnings scorecard.) Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc. reported a net income of $43 million for the first quarter of 2009 - compared with $1.1 billion for 2008 - that"s a 96% drop. Ouch. Bad year to be in the copper business. Barrick Gold Corp (NYSE: ABX) is due to release its first-quarter results on Apr il 29. For 2008, Barrick managed to increase its revenues by 25% over 2007. Nice, but nowhere near the results some of the Chinese companies saw, and first-quarter estimates aren"t looking that much better than Freeport"s. The next two weeks will be interesting, as many of the rest of the big gold companies - Newmont (4/30), Kinross (5/5), Harmony (5/8) and AngloGold (5/15) - will be reporting their results. Our guess, however, is that nobody will have the concentrated performance of the leading Chinese pure-play gold miners.

Gold: Safe Haven or a False Idol? - Finance

As the financial crisis continues, investors are searching for safety anywhere they can get it. Real estate is obviously out. Equities are getting hit. The currency markets are roiling.

Throughout history, gold has acted as a safe haven in times of economic stress.

Should you be investing in it?

Investors around the world are flocking to the yellow metal. The South African Rand Refinery which manufactures the popular Krugerrand coin, is now operating its plant 7 days a week to keep up with demand for its gold coins. Similarly, the Austrian mint has added weekend production.

In Perth, Australia, the Perth Mint has hired more staff and has doubled its coin production. About 80% of its business is done outside of Australia in North America, Europe and Asia.

The U.S. Mint recently announced it was temporarily suspending all sales of the 24-karat American Buffalo gold coins due to increasing demand as the Mint's inventories were depleted.

A few weeks ago, it also suspended sales of the American Eagle coins, also due to strong demand. American Eagle sales resumed, but only to a select group of designated dealers. The Mint will also resume sales of the Buffalo coins shortly.

But buying coins is different from buying shares in gold mining companies. The price of gold does not always correlate with earnings of mining companies. Stocks of gold mining producers sometimes decline even when gold prices are soaring.

Should You Buy Gold Mining Stocks Now?

The price of gold has been volatile, with big swings in the last two weeks. Gold stocks have also seen big moves up and down. Neither is for the faint of heart.

There are two categories of gold mining stocks: the junior miners and the large miners. The large miners have a longer history of earnings and are usually believed to be less volatile. The junior miners are riskier but that risk can pay off big if gold prices soar.

I did a screen on Research Wizard to find gold mining stocks that were at least a Zacks Rank #3 and had earnings growth.

Barrick Gold (ABX) is one of the world's largest gold producers with 27 mines on five continents. ABX, headquartered in Toronto, is a Zacks #3 Rank stock. It has surprised on estimates 2 out of 4 quarters by an average of 1.45%. Analysts expect earnings growth of 10%.

Newmont Mining (NEM) is also one of the world's largest gold producers with mines on 5 continents. Newmont was founded in 1921 and is headquartered in Denver. The company is a Zacks #3 Rank stock. Analysts expect earnings growth of 14.3%.

Drdgold Limited (DROOY) is a South African medium-sized gold producer with mines in South Africa. Drdgold is a Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stock. Analysts expect earnings growth of 42.15%.

Gold Stocks Not the Only Bet

Individual gold stocks may be too risky for your investing style. You can invest directly into gold itself through an exchange traded fund, SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), which was launched in 2004. This ETF tracks gold prices as determined by the London PM fix and actually holds gold as a custodian.

Investors flocked to GLD in September, pouring in an additional $4 billion, on top of the $17.4 billion in assets the ETF had at the end of August.

Don't Get Blinded by Gold's Shine

A gold-focused investment may be a way to diversify a portfolio, but that's all it should be: diversification. Don't place all your bets on one sector or asset class. It was that singular emphasis, on real estate and before that on technology stocks, that has tripped up investors in the past.

Gold has shone brightly during dark times before but as quickly as it soared, it also lost its luster.

Look at gold, and gold stocks, for what they are, a safer haven in a time of uncertainty. Invest accordingly.

Gold ETF Trading For Beginners - Finance

Gold etf trading for beginners and taking advantage of the gold market using the GLD exchange traded fund to generate consistent profits in any market condition.

As I mentioned before, the past 5 months have been very frustrating for most traders as we are stuck in this sideways price action. I also noted that August to December is generally the stronger months for gold. Although gold has been under selling pressure during the last 4 weeks I think there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's usually the darkest before dawn, but there are some hurtles for gold to over come before we are in the clear which I explain below.

1 - The Gold Mining Stocks Index

An 10 year chart with a cup and handle pattern complete with a breakout. Gold mining stocks have continued to collapse below their support level. This does not mean gold is going to follow but it is a red flag which needs to be noted for future long entry points. Gold mining stocks in general are seen as volatile and high risk types of investments so I understand why investors are unloading their positions to lock in profits. Gold mining stocks are pushed below long term support level.

2 - Gold Stocks Index

An 8yr chart of the price action of gold stocks and you can see that they are currently testing long term support levels. If this monthly bar closes below this trend line then long term investors should be sitting in cash until we have a new opportunity to enter long or short. The HUI generally makes the move before the price of gold so I follow the HUI in all time frames. The HUI is testing long term support.

3 - Performance Chart (Gold Stocks vs Price of Gold)

The past 2 years, from 2006 to present gold stocks have slowly been underperforming the price of gold. This is generally not a good thing to see if we want higher prices for gold. But the good news is that gold stocks appear to be reaching levels at which new rallies have started. Gold stocks under performing the price of gold but near support.

4 - Daily HUI Chart

I follow the HUI like a hawk as it fine tunes my entry and exit point for trading GLD, DGP and DZZ funds. Last month the HUI made a lower high and a lower low which is a red flag. While I don't predict prices I am thinking these lower prices for gold stocks are just panic sellers over extending a sell off. I would really like to see an August rally kick into place. The HUI makes a lower high and lower low on the daily chart.

5 - GLD Gold ETF Trading Signals For Beginners

While gold stocks have been selling down, gold has so far been able to hold some ground. As you can see in the chart below the last three months gold has made higher highs, and higher lows. Currently gold is testing Major Support at the 200 EMA. Gold ETF GLD at long term support still holding its ground.

Conclusion:

My analysis of gold above explains that gold stocks and indexes are oversold and are at major support levels. Thus an August rally is not out of the picture and we could have some favorable setups in the near future. I would prefer higher prices, but in the end movement is movement and we can profit in either direction evenly.

GLD gold etf trading for me is the most accurate trading vehicle I have come across. I have been using my proven trading model which avoids the price gaps and keeps risk under 3% for each trade. GLD makes it simple to profit from the markets using a proven trading model for trading long and short term gold setups in all market conditions (bull, bear, and sideways).

My focus for short term trading is simple. Wait for a breakout which satisfies my trading model, enter the trade and then exit 50% of position on the first sign of weakness. Exit second half on a trend line break. etf trading for beginners is low risk I provide GLD ETF signals which generate 2-5% profit within 2-10 days unless prices continue to run then we lock in a much larger profit. I generally have 10-20 trades per year with gold.
