Metal Detectors and Their Many Uses - Outdoors

Fun: Metal detecting is an exciting hobby. I love to wake up early in the morning, get my metal detector ready, chart my course for the day and get to it. The places that produce the best prospects are old houses. Houses that have been around for hundreds of years tend to give better results. Finding any kind of silver coin is considered by most a good find. Try metal detecting just for the fun of it. The rewards are many, who knows you just might hit the jackpot.Security: Metal detectors have become a part of our lives. They are common in our airports, office buildings, schools, government, and our prisons. They insure that no one can bring a weapon into these and other premises.

Safety: The pharmaceutical and food industries are two big users of metal detectors. The primary use is to detect contaminants of a metal nature within our food supply. The need for metal detectors in these industries has never been greater. In an era where there are more unscrupulous people contaminating food with body fluids and with metal contaminants, we see metal detectors being used more and more.

Education: Our ancestors left behind clues of who we are and where we came from. Can you imagine finding such a clue? Have you ever gone on a treasure hunt? There are hidden treasures, gold coins, silver coins, relics, gold rings, gold earrings, gold necklaces and hundreds of thousands if not millions of metal artifacts for us to find. Archeologists rely on metal detectors to find all of the wonderful treasures that help them learn how the ancient people lived and why they died.

Health: Imagine that you are on vacation, enjoying your time away from the stresses of daily life and you decide to go metal detecting, treasure hunting, combing the beach or what ever name you prefer to call it. The point is metal detecting allows you to step away from the rat race and into a whole new world of relaxation and a worry free mindset. Doctors encourage patients to walk because it is the best exercise that there is. Guess what? If you go treasure hunting you will do a lot of walking. Take a friend along and enjoy each others company, the risks are few and the rewards could be significant.

Profit: Metal detecting is a great hobby that can also be profitable. In 1715 ten or more Spanish ships sank off the Florida coast. The reason they sank is because they were overloaded with gold and silver and other precious treasures. Detector's have been combing the Florida beach and have found numerous coins, gold chains and the like. In virtually every state there are treasures to be found and turned into profit.
